TeamSpeak Expands Network Amid Discord User Exodus

Recently, Discord announced that the platform will soon require age verification through facial recognition or government-issued identification. The announcement was met with immediate backlash, prompting Discord to issue a follow-up statement clarifying how the system works. The company stated, “Discord is not requiring everyone to complete a face scan or upload an ID to use Discord.”
However, the clarification did little to calm concerns. Critics argued that many users are still uncomfortable providing sensitive personal information in a time when digital privacy is increasingly scarce.
TeamSpeak, a platform similar to Discord, has seen a surge of new users migrating from Discord. The sudden influx has overwhelmed its network and bandwidth, prompting TeamSpeak to quickly expand its server infrastructure to support the growing demand.
